This interactive based course provides a road map for establishing and maintaining corrective and preventive action systems. This course contains workshop exercises and case studies.

CONTENTS:

1. What is the problem solving process?
2. What is root cause analysis?
3. How to make problems manageable.
4. Common barriers to root cause analysis.

This course is presented in seven phases containing self-assessment questions after each phase.

Phase 1 Establishing a team.

             Using the team approach.

Phase 2 Describing the problem.

Phase 3 Interim containment action.

Phase 4 Find and verify root cause.

Phase 5 Select permanent corrective action and verify.

Phase 6 Implement corrective actions and verify/validate.

Phase 7 Prevent system problems.

The students review the question of what is corrective and preventive actions including the investigation and how corrective/preventive action should be documented.

This course is for the very advanced and is not for the beginner.
