Learning Objectives

This interactive aerospace oriented course assists participants, using structured exercises, to analyze in detail the requirements of the standard relating to the internal audit program.

Participants learn how to design an internal audit program that includes program scope and schedule, auditor selection and training, audit resource allocation, internal audit documentation and records, etc.

A participant who successfully completes this course will:

  • Understand and is able to describe the purpose of a Quality Management System and its role in helping an organization to operate with increased effectiveness, consistency and customer satisfaction. The participant will have the capability to recommend and assist top management to continually improve the quality management system.
  • Understand and use Guidance and Requirements of AS 9110, when conducting internal audits or managing the Quality Management System in the AS 9110 repair stations.
  • Understand and is able to explain the commonality and approval between FAA and the international AS industries.
  • Understand the reasons why AS 9110 changed from an US industry standard to an AS International Standard.
  • Review sections of a quality manual from a fictitious company.
  • Participate in simulated exercises where an auditor conducts an audit interview and examines related documents, work instructions and records.
  • Records their findings and prepares an audit report.
